Do you know the symptoms of diabetes? These tricky diabetes symptoms can just creep upon you when you least expect it. Let us take Halle Berry for an example - she only know that she was suffering from the chronic diabetic symptoms when she fainted on a movie set and have to be rushed to hospital.  This took her off guard since she does not have a family history of diabetes.

This could happen to any of us at any time and that is why we need to know all the symptoms or diabetes. If you know the severe complications of diabetes you would take diabetes serious.

The dreaded diabetes complications to be mindful of

Not everyone who is afflicted with diabetes mellitus is afflicted in exactly the same way. Two individual could do the same type of activity and eat the same types of food but one will suffer from diabetes and the other will not. This only proves that diabetes is very individual – that is why you got to think about your own health and what is good for you - As opposed to what everyone else is doing. To really protect your health you might want to know what the symptoms of diabetes are.

The diabetes symptoms of diabetes you need to know about – before it is too late

I saw somewhere where someone was saying that Diabetes mellitus can be considered to be a beautiful chronic disease. This is because you can suffer from diabetes and no one can look and say there goes a diabetic – unless of course they saw you taking your diabetes medication.

The thing to be mindful of is that not because diabetes mellitus considered to be a beautiful chronic disease mean that the symptoms of diabetes and the implications of untreated diabetes are not very serious.

Diabetes mellitus on its own do not kill. Let me explain, diabetes itself is just an elevated blood glucose level beyond the normal range because the body is not using it properly. Therefore you can

What is diabetes mellitus?

suffer from diabetes mellitus type symptoms for years before eventually being diagnosed for diabetes mellitus. Actually, when you suffer these diabetes symptoms you are said to suffer from symptoms of pre diabetes mellitus. The definition of pre diabetes mellitus is basically the same definition as for diabetes mellitus – higher than normal levels of glucose in the blood on a consistent basis for an extended period of time. The problem I have with this definition is that the only purpose for it is seems like is to massage egos. I would be thinking is either you have diabetes or you don’t. Personally, you either function in the normal range or you are a diabetic.

Don’t listen to me though – listen to the professional they know best. The only thing I can do is give my opinion. Back to the point about diabetes on its own do not kill. Diabetes is like the kingpin it causes the organs of your body to deteriorate and not function properly. Most diabetic who dies actually dies from some sort of heart or kidney failure – not diabetes. Diabetic are also accounts for a vast majority amputation performed outside of wars and natural disaster.

According to Amputation Coalition:  “Amputations due to vascular disease - problems associated with the blood vessels which is what diabetes cause- accounted for the majority (82 percent) of limb loss discharges and increased from 38.30 per 100,000 people in 1988 to 46.19 per 100,000 people in 1996.”Source:  http://www.amputee-coalition.org

The good news is that diabetes mellitus can be reversed. Don’t be among the millions of people worldwide who are pre diabetic and are not doing anything about it. My personal philosophy is – prevention is better than cure. Just by making a few adjustments to your current lifestyle you could actually eliminate the vast majority of the risks associated with diabetes.
